The sound of heavy hooves pounding over the stone streets of Minas Tirith was heard only over the torrent of the rain by those with sharp ears. It was cold, and the rain had been falling for hours, making everything soaking wet. Portia's clothing clung to her tightly, her wet hair falling from it's tie and sticking to her drenched face. Her stallion's entire body was dirty from the rain and dirt along the trail, his neck steaming with exertion to get from the rain. Now that they were in Minas Tirith, it would be easy to do so.
Portia was able to navigate out the stable, and moved Genisus inside it, out of the rain and onto dry ground. She dismounted with movements that showed years of experience, though she was stiff and drenched, and quickly took off Genisus's wet tack. She put him into a stall so he could dry and warm in peace, while she set his saddle and blanket in a place she knew it would dry. She went through her saddle bags, suprised to find everything in them dry, and took a towel to her wet locks, not hearing an approaching stranger.

Boromir stood just inside the stable, his clothes were dripping, making a small puddle on the floor beneath him. Boromir pushed down the hood of his cloak, water running off it as he did so. His hair was still soaked, despite the hood intended to keep him dry. He looked at the lady before him, surveying her carefully before moving forwards, "Welcome," he said, almost yelling over the sound of the rain outside, "What brings you here? Why do you travel in such weather?"

[size=1]Portia turned to look, her eyes soft and bright, despire the dark surroundings. Her lips were parted only slightly, and she flipped her hair back, her pointed ears now eveident against her dark hair. In her eyes now sat the most handsome human Portia had ever seen. Her eyes darted up and down his form for a moment before speaking. "I did not expect the storm. I was on my way home and got caught in it. So I slipped in here to wade it out." she said over the torrent then walked towards him. "I'm Portia."

"An Elf?" he muttered, more to himself than to Portia. "I do not think I have ever before seen Elves in Gondor, let alone in the White City." He looked at Portia, amazed. "I am Boromir, son of Denethor and I welcome you to Minas Tirith."

Portia smiled her radiant smile as he introduced himself. "Half elf, really." he said with a smile. True, she was half elf, but her body father was human and she did have technically wizard blood inside her. "The pleasure is mine, Son of Denethor." she said with another radiant smile and bowed, as was Elven fashion.

"Half-Elf? I have definately never seen a Half-Elf in Gondor before!" Boromir exclaimed, "Well, Mae Govannen." Boromir bent his head, he did not like to bow. Boromir put his hand on his belt, feeling the reasurring cold of the Ring, chained onto the belt under cloak. "I've never quite known what "Mae Govannen" meant, I was told by an elf I met a while ago as well as "Suliad" or something, that meant "Hello", but I have no idea what "Mae Govannen" means, he just said to say it when you met somebody."

"It means 'well met'." She said with an understanding smile. From his stall, Genisus hung his head over, looking at Boromir sceptically from a moment, then struck out at him, mouth wide, stopping just short of his face. Portia was suprised by the horse's sudden venom, he only did that when he could sense the evil on people. She arched one brow then turned back to Boromir. "Ignore him, he's been strange since we left Lothlorien." she said softly, then cast a warning eye to the stallion, who pulled his head back into his stall. "I'm here looking for someone, perhaps you can help me. I've heard tell there is a man who returned to Gondor with the one ring and declared himself worthy to fill the chair of the king. It may be just folklore, but I want to be certain." she said softly.

"He did not return with the pr..Ring, but he is worthy to be King. His name is the same as mine but he is a much greater warrior than I." Boromir said, defensively. "King Boromir of Gondor will save the White City from the Enemy." Boromir loved the sound of the words, they themselves seemed to save Gondor with just their mentioning.

Portia literally froze as he finished speaking. "My apologies. I knew not to whom I spoke." she said softly and bowed her head. This man was beginning to seem bull-headed in her eyes, and she knew now why Genisus had struck out.

"There is no reason for apology. I did not expect you to know much of the affairs of Gondor, Elves do not care for the troubles of Men." Boromir said, bitterly. "They run away into the trees and the hills, hoping that men will do what they will to defeat the Dark Lord. The Dwarves hide away in the caves and mountains, leaving us to face Him alone. Even other men, such as the Rohirrim abandon us and hide away in their rotten stables, sleeping amoungst the dogs and the horses. They all leave us to save all the folk of Middle-Earth, but we cannot do it, without aid from another place, another source."

Portia decided it was not in her best interests to get into a battle of whits with this man. She smiled, and nodded, before speaking once more. "I should...get out of the rain, find myself a place to stay." she said softly, looking about, not mentioning that none of the inns were empty and she had no where to stay. She pulled her hair away from her face quickly, the soaked curls falling, full of life, about her.

"The Inns will be full by now, many travellers come past Minas Tirith, often staying here for a night, especially when it rains like this." Boromir said, "You can stay in the House of Anárion, as you are the first of the Half-Elven to set foot in Minas Tirith, to my knowledge."

Portia couldn't help but smile at the man's generosity. "Well, thank you, my regards and thanks. I am in your debt." she said and bowed at the waist, before pressing a kiss to Genisus's nose. She then looked back to Boromir. "If you would show me the way, I would appreaciate it."
